Representative Anderson is a native of Moss Point, MS. He received his associate degree in criminal justice from Pearl River Community College and his bachelor's degree in homeland security from Tulane University.​

Representative Anderson represents District 110 in the Mississippi Legislature covering Moss Point and Pascagoula. When Rep. Anderson won his seat in November of 2013, he became the youngest African American ever elected to a Legislature in United States History. Representative Anderson is also the youngest elected to the Mississippi Legislature
